Brown Named to NABC All-District Second-Team

Terrence Brown led the Runnin’ Utes in scoring with a 19.9 points average.
KANSAS CITY – Utah men's basketball guard Terrence Brown was named to the NABC All-District Second-Team on Tuesday the coaches association announced.

This is the second end of year award for Brown, who was named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention earlier this month. He is the first guard for Utah to selected to the NABC All-District team since Sedrick Barefield in 2019.

The Minneapolis, Minn., product finished the season averaging 19.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals to go with a .453 shooting clip. Brown reached double-figures in scoring 29-of-32 games on the year while hitting the 30-point barrier twice – including a career-high 36 points against Weber State at home in overtime. In total, Brown scored 20-plus points in 18 of the 32 games he played this season.

He reached double-figures in 16-of-18 conference and scored 20-plus points in eight of those contests – including a 33-point game at Kansas State.

In his first season with the Runnin' Utes, Brown has scored 636 points at the end of the regular-season – which made him just the fifth player since 1996-97 to reach the 600-point total in a single-season joining Branden Carlson (2023-24), Jakob Poeltl (2015-16), Andrew Bogut (2004-05) and Keith Van Horn (1996-97).

Meanwhile, he is 1-of-32 players in Division I to have scored at least 600 points and dished out 100 assists this season through games on March 15. Of the 32 players, 14 of them hail from a Power Conference and is 1-of-4 that hail from the Big 12 Conference (AJ Dybantsa, P.J. Haggerty, Terrence Brown, Robert Wright III).
