Davis extended Utah’s FBS record pick-six streak to 23 seasons last Saturday at Cincinnati
IRVING, Texas — Utah cornerback Elijah Davis has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Â
Davis put an exclamation point on Utah's 42-point first half last Saturday at Cincinnati, cutting in front of a Bearcat pass to the sideline and taking it back 39 yards to the end zone for a score as the Utes built a 42-6 halftime advantage on the road.
Â
The pick-six extended Utah's streak to 23 straight seasons with an interception return for a touchdown, the longest known streak in FBS history.
Â
The fifth-year native of Winter Haven, Fla., also added six tackles with 0.5 TFL and one PBU as the Utes improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in Big 12 play with the victory at Nippert Stadium.
Â
Davis has recorded 24 tackles with one interception and seven passes broken up on the season for the Utes. He is the first Utah defensive player to be honored by the Big 12 in 2026.
