THIS WEEK
The University of Utah Men's Golf team returns to the NCAA Regionals for the second consecutive season, traveling to Bremerton, Wash., as the No. 3 seed. The Utes have cemented their presence in the NCAA Regionals with another selection, totaling four appearances in the last five seasons. Utah's recent postseason stretch began back in the 2020-21 season when the team finished tied for seventh at the Cle Elum (Wash.) Regional. The Utes then took on the Norman Regional (Okla.) in the ensuing season, placing fifth and moving on to the NCAA Championships. After missing regionals in 2023, the Utes returned to the tournament last season at the Austin Regional (Texas). Last season was Utah's best showing in any regional, finishing in fourth and moving on to the NCAA Championships for the second time in program history. The course is familiar for many Ute golfers as the team competed in last season's Husky Invitational at the same site.
HISTORIC MARKS
Utah has had a record-setting season that saw four team titles and five individual crowns, each the most in program history under a single-season. Before this season, the program had totaled eight team tournament titles in its 34-year history. After
Sergio Jimenez (Palouse Collegiate),
Davis Johnson (The Tindall),
Gabriel Palacios (John Burns, The Goodwin) and
Brandon Robison (Arizona Thunderbird) all captured their first collegiate individual titles this season, the entire Utah lineup had earned an individual crown dating back to
Braxton Watts securing The Goodwin title last season. The Utes have finished inside the top three in seven of their 12 tournaments to this point.
IN THE RANKS
Over the course of the season, the Utes have shot up the rankings while eclipsing their highest ranking in program history. Utah currently sits as the No. 17 ranked team in the country, tallying 20 straight weeks inside the Top 20. The Utes sit as one of three Big 12 programs inside the top 20 with No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 5 Arizona State. In the individual rankings,
Gabriel Palacios ranks as the No. 37 men's college golfer in the country while
Sergio Jimenez sits at No. 49, and
Brandon Robison at No. 97.
THE FIELD
The three-day tournament includes fourteen teams from across the country while five individual golfers will also hit the links. The Utes are the No. 3 seed in the field behind top-seeds Arizona State and Florida. There are four other Big 12 foes inside the Bremerton Regional as Colorado, Kansas, and Kansas State join ASU alongside Utah.

COACH'S THOUGHTS
"Regionals always create the most pressure we feel all year and I would say we love this opportunity each year so it's something we all look forward to," head coach
Garrett Clegg said. "Every year regionals is a major challenge. As much as we want to make it business as usual, there is always a different feel. We have things we will be focusing on as a coaching staff to hopefully have our team as prepared as possible. Everyone on the team is excited about competing at Gold Mountain. It adds a lot of confidence that we know the course and understand how the holes will play."
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The three-day regional covers 54 holes of golf, similar to all non-conference tournaments this season. Each day will include one round of golf as play begins each morning. The course stretches 7,167 yards in rounds one and three while measuring 7,114 yards in round two
. Par is set at 72 for all three rounds. The top five teams from each region advance to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California.
