Utes Fall 4-0 to No. 20 Cowgirls

STILLWATER, Okla. – The University of Utah women's tennis team fell to the No. 20 Oklahoma State Cowgirls 4-0 Thursday afternoon.
Utah is now 7-12 overall on the season and sits at 2-8 in Big 12 play.
DOUBLES
Utah had a slow start in doubles action dropping the advantage point. The Cowgirls got wins in the No. 2 and then the No. 1 spots to clinch the doubles point. Oklahoma State was up 5-3 over Utah at the No. 3 spot before the match was unfinished.
SINGLES
Utah couldn't get any momentum in singles action. The Cowgirls picked up wins in the No. 4, No. 3 and No. 5 spots in the lineup to clinch the match 4-0. Sara Akid dropped her first set 2-6 but claimed the second set 6-1. She was down in her third set before the match went unfinished.
On court No. 1 Emma Kamper dropped her first set 6-4 but was up 2-0 in the second before her match was unfinished.
UP NEXT
The Utes will stay on the road to take on Kansas State on Saturday, April 5 at 11 a.m. before returning home for the final home matches of the season. Utah will host Houston April 10 and UCF April 12 for senior day. Utah will then head to the Big 12 Championships April 16-20.
