OGDEN, Utah – The Utah track & field team had a great start to the weekend with its 4x100m relay team breaking the school record on Friday at the Weber State Spring Classic inside Chick Hislop Outdoor Track.
Lela Divinity got the day going for Utah in the 100m hurdles by running a PR time of 14.52 (aa) for seventh-place overall.
It was then the 4x100m relay team's turn on the track with
Chelsea Amoah,
Emily Martin,
Bailey Kealamakia and
Megan Rose blazing through with a time of 44.56 (aa) to claim the event victory.
After a short break, Martin lined up on the blocks in the 400m dash and secured the event win behind a new personal best time of 53.11 (aa) – which also improved her hold on the No. 3 mark at Utah. Teammates
Annie Ivins (56.70 aa),
Chloe Taylor (57.12 aa) and
Chloe Shewell (57.23 aa) all registered top-10 finishes as well, coming in sixth, seventh and eighth – respectively.
Utah returns home to the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex on Saturday, April 12, to host its lone home meet of the year starting at NOON (MDT). The annual kids race is scheduled to start at 12:20 p.m. followed by senior day ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. down the home stretch.
