SEATTLE / FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. / LOGAN, Utah – The Utah track & field team closed out a great weekend of competition on Saturday across three meets, but it was the group of milers who shined the most with five new entries into the record book.
Â
UW INVITATIONAL
Erin Vringer led the way for the group of milers with her run of 4:37.47 – which moved her into fourth all-time and 11th-overall in the race. Newcomer
Madi Hulsey wasted no time, inserting herself into the record books with the sixth-fastest mark in program history when she crossed the finish line at 4:43.39.
Â
McKaylie Caesar wasn't too far behind Hulsey, finishing with a time of 4:45.41 to earn her the seventh-fastest mark at Utah.
Clara Mayfield (4:46.36) joined in on the parade when she posted the 10th-fastest marks ever at Utah.Â
Grace Moroney (4:46.41) would've owned the 10th spot in the record book had it not been for her teammate,
Bri Rinn, who had run a faster mark in the mile moments later in Fayetteville.
Â
RAZORBACK INVITATIONAL
Over at the Tyson Track Center, Utah's trio of
Megan Rose (7.63),
Matejah Mangum (7.759) and
Chelsea Amoah (7.778) all moved on from the qualifying round and earned a spot in the 60m prelims with Mangum winning her heat. Of the three, Rose was the only Ute to run in the prelims and didn't move onto the finals after another 7.63 run in the 60m dash.
Â
In the mile,
Bri Rinn saw herself inserted into the top-10 after she posted a time of 4:45.63 in her first indoor mile race - which was good for ninth to bump Maroney from the top-10 list. Meanwhile,
Millie Wilcox was just shy of cracking the top-10 but managed to record a new PR after finishing in 4:49.22.
Chloe Shewell also posted a new personal best when she ran a 57.10 in the 400m dash.
Â
Utah's 4x400m relay crew of
Bailey Kealamakia, Shewell,
Emily Martin and Mangum also set some new standards by running the seventh-fastest time at Utah when they combined to go 3:42.71 on Saturday to close out the day.
