DES MOINES, Iowa / PROVO, Utah – The Utah track & field team was just shy of defending its Drake Relays title this weekend, finishing with 20 points for second-place in the 114th edition of the race on the famed Blue Oval at Drake Stadium.

DRAKE RELAYS
Utah had a solid start to the day with the DMR team posting a new program record time of 11:04.57 for second-overall.
Bri Rinn opened the race for Utah and was in the top-3 before handing the baton off to
Harley Daniel – who turned on the afterburners in the 400m leg to give Utah the lead before turning it over to
Kyla Martin. K. Martin held the lead through her first 400m of the race and passed it off to
Erin Vringer at the same time as Notre Dame. Vringer would have the lead for the first 200m of the final 1600m but the Fighting Irish would not be denied as Olivia Markezich outpaced Vringer for the win.

In the 100m finals,
Emily Martin was just shy of another PR after she crossed the finish line with a mark of 11.76 for seventh-overall.

The sprint medley relay squad of
J'neya Hill,
Chloe Shewell,
Ally Gomm and
Millie Wilcox teamed up to run the seventh-best time in school history when they finished with a time of 4:02.71.

Meanwhile, Utah's 4x100m relay quartet consisting of
Megan Rose, E. Martin,
Malia Overton and
Bailey Kealamakia took second-overall after posting the second-fastest mark in program history (44.91).

Utah then wrapped its time at the Drake Relays by taking third in the 4x400m relay thanks to Gomm, Daniel, E. Martin and Kealamakia running 3:36.50 – which was the third-fastest mark at Utah.

ROBISON INVITATIONAL
Josefine Eriksen continued her stellar weekend on Saturday, breaking yet another record owned by E. Martin. This time the senior broke the 200m dash school record with her run of 23.36 for second-overall in the event.

Annie Murdock then took fifth in her 800m race after finishing with a time of 2:12.14. Meanwhile,
Karli Branch registered an 11:21.66 in the 3000m steeplechase.

Saydi Anderson picked up a top-3 finish in the 5000m race after she crossed Âwith a mark of 17:36.71.
Grace Burnett closed out Utah's time down south at the Robison Invitational in the mile with a run of 5:54.42.
