LAST TIME OUT
The Utes claimed their second home victory after a 4-2 match against the Nevada Wolfpack on Feb. 17. After securing the doubles point,
Jayson Blando and
Geronimo Espin Busleiman won courts three and one, placing the Utes at a 3-2 advantage. The match was decided on court six as
Geremia Rossi took a decisive victory, finishing 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 and awarded Utah with the win.
HEAD COACH ROELAND BRATEANU
Utah Head CoachÂ
Roeland Brateanu, reigning Pac-12 Coach of the Year, leads the Utes for his tenth season this spring. Under Brateanu's guidance, the Utah men claimed the Pac-12 Champions title as well as finished with a No. 1 ranking in the ITA Mountain Region last spring. Brateanu boasts a 158-93 overall record.
THE UTES
The Utah roster is comprised of seven returning players.Â
Geronimo Espin Busleiman returns to compete for the Utes at the No. 1 spot after an impressive 2023 spring season.Â
Berk Bugarikj  also returns after he boasted an ITA No. 1 ranking in doubles for the Mountain Region last season.Â
Bruno Krenn also returns for the Utes, claiming his first victory at the No. 2 spot in the season opener.
Twins Jayson andÂ
Michael Blando return for their third season with the squad, currently holding a 6-3 doubles record.Â
Geremia Rossi also makes a comeback to the team for the third time this spring season, currently has a 4-3 doubles record with partnerÂ
Dylan Applegate. This is Applegate's second season with the Utes.
Gianluca Citadini is the single newcomer for the Utah team. The Argentinian national reached as high as No. 139 on the ITF Junior World Rankings and is a Grade 1 National Tournament Champion in Argentina. Citadini claimed his first regular-season collegiate win in the No. 5 spot at Utah's season opener.
SCOUTING LMU
The Loyola Marymount Lions are currently 5-3 on the season. Their most recent victories include competitions against UC Irvine, finishing 4-3, and San Diego State with a 4-3 finish as well. The last time the Utes faced the Lions was during the 2023 season. The match was played at LMU and resulted in a 4-0 win for Utah.
