FROM THE STARTERS BOX
The Women of Utah will send the same 13 runners to the Dellinger Invitational this Friday, Oct. 11, as their final big race before competing in their first Big 12 Conference Championships meet on Friday, Nov. 1. Of the 13, only
McKaylie Caesar,
Emily Chaston and
Morgan Jensen have competed at the Dellinger Invitational. All three ran against one another in 2021 when the Utes won the team title while Caesar owns the best individual finish among the trio with a third-place finish in 2022 (19:58.8).
IN THE RANKINGS
Utah remained at No. 6 in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll after an idle week the association announced on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The No. 6 ranking marks the third time in program history it has been ranked that high.
PNW REWIND
The Women of Utah return to the Dellinger Invitational for the first time since
winning the meet back in 2021 as a team behind a trio of top-10 finishes from Ariel Keklak, Emily Venters and Simone Plourde while Bella Williams was just outside the top-10 at No. 11 for Utah. Cara Woolnough would round out the top-5 scorers for Utah finishing at 19th-overall.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah showed up and showed out in its first big meet of the year at the Nuttycombe Invitational, placing second-overall behind a sixth-place finish from redshirt sophomore
Erin Vringer with a PR time of 2:14.2. The runner-up finish for Utah is the best team finish in program history at the Nuttycombe Invitational.
ROLLING IN THE DEEP
Utah head coach
Kyle Kepler returns arguably his best roster to date with four of five scorers from last season's NCAA Championship team back in 2025 – including a pair of All-Americans in
McKaylie Caesar and
Anna Peters. He'll also have the services of veteran transfer
Emily Chaston in addition to
Erin Vringer and
Lindsey Peters – who redshirted last season.
UP NEXT
Utah will host its annual meet once again but with a change in venue due to construction at Sunnyside Park. This year's home meet, named the Utah Scenic West Open, will happen on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Sugar House Park. The women's race will take off first at 1 p.m. (MT) followed by the men at 1:45 p.m.
