SALT LAKE CITY – The 2026 Utah cross country schedule is officially released and features of pair of meets in SLC.
Utah will once again open things up at the UVU Invitational on Friday, Aug. 28 before staying local for the Beehive Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 10.
The Women of Utah will get their first look at this year's championship course when they compete at the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State at the LaVern Gibson Championships Cross Country Course in Terra Haute, Ind. It'll be their first competing there in a non-championship race since 2014 (Pre-Nats).
From there, the Utes return to a familiar locale for the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Zimmer Championship Course. The Utes then return home to host the annual Utah Open on Thursday, Oct. 15, at Sugar House Park before the start of championships season.
This year's Big 12 Championships is set to take place once again on Halloween and will be hosted by Oklahoma State at the Greiner Family Cross Country Course. The Utes then heads to Albuquerque, N.M., once again for the NCAA Mountain Regionals on Friday, Nov. 13, at the UNM North Golf Course.
Should the Women of Utah advance to the NCAA Championships (Nov. 21), it'll serve as the third time in program history the Utes have competed at the LaVern Gibson Championships Cross Country Course for the championships. Utah's first championship appearance in Terra Haute, Ind., came in 2016 when it finished 20th-overall as a program in just its second NCAA Championship appearance. The second time occurred in 2019 where it placed 16th-overall – which served as the program's best finish at the championships until the 2022 team finished 12th-overall.
