THINGS TO KNOW
• Utah won its first ASUN Championship with an 11-9 victory over Air Force on May 8 to earn its first NCAA Championships berth.
• The Utes rank second nationally in both scoring offense (16.69) and points per game (25.56), while Notre dame ranks third in both (scoring offense, 15.83; points per game, 24.67).
• Utah is currently outscoring opponents by 4.56 points per game, which ranks fifth in the country.
• Utah is just in its fifth year as a Division I program, winning back-to-back ASUN regular season titles (2022, 2023) and sitting at 34-28 overall as a team with 22 victories coming in the last two years.
CHAMPS
The No. 18 Utes clinched their spot in their first NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championships with its 11-9 victory over Air Force on Sunday, May 8, earning its first ASUN Championship.

Cole Brams was named Tournament MVP with Brams,

Tyler Bradbury all earning All-Tournament Team.
• Utah finished the game with 42 shots, including 22 on goal, also winning the ground ball game 33-23.
• Utah held Air Force to nine goals, the fourth time this season the Utes have held an opponent under 10.
• The Utes won 91-percent of the faceoffs in the game, holding Air Force to just two faceoff wins.
• Brams won 21-of-23 faceoffs against the Falcons, also recording 18 ground balls.
• Moyer scored a team-high four goals on just five shots on goal.
• Cambere had a season-high tying three caused turnovers and a ground ball.
WINNING WAYS
With its ASUN Championship win, Utah has recorded 12 victories this season, a new record for the Utes.
• Twenty-two of Utah's 34 program wins have come in the last two seasons (65%).
• Utah has won 11 games in a row, also setting a new record after its seven-game win streak last season.
• In that 11 game win streak, Utah finished the regular season league slate undefeated (9-0).
• The Utes are one of just five schools in Division I men's lacrosse that finished conference play undefeated.
• Utah is 14-0 all-time in regular season conference games after winning all five in 2022.
• Utah has won 75% of its games this season, ranking seventh nationally out of 71 teams.
SCORING FRENZY
Utah only averaged 11.4 goals and 18.8 points per game during non-conference play. Fast forward to postseason and Utah is averaging 16.69 goals and 25.56 points per game – including 20.22 goals and 30.11 points during ASUN play to lead the league in both.
• Utah has scored 18-or-more goals in nine games this season, including in eight straight from March 25 – April 29.
• Utah ranks second in the country in points (25.56) and goals (16.69) per game, also ranking fifth in scoring margin (+4.56).
• Utah is the only team in the country that has scored 20+ goals in four games this season (24 at Detroit Mercy, 26 at Robert Morris, 22 vs. Lindenwood, 22 vs. Mercer).
• Utah's 267 goals is a single-season record at Utah, and is the most by any team this season.

Utah's offense and defense has propelled the program to high ranks this season across multiple statistical categories, sitting in the top-three in the ASUN in 10, includ-ing leading the league in eight.
• Utah led the ASUN in assists (8.88), ground balls (37.88), points (25.56), goals (16.69) and turnovers (14.25) per game, also leading the league in clearing percent-age (.908), scoring margin (+4.56) and winning percentage (.750).
• The Utes also finished second in the league in caused turnovers per game (8.19) and face-off win percentage (.559).
• Utah's 26 goals against Robert Morris on April 8 is the most scored by any time in the ASUN, also ranking as the third-most nationally.
• The Utes also won 31 faceoffs in the game against Robert Morris, which is the most by an ASUN team this season and is second in the country.

Jordan Hyde's eight goals against Mercer on April 15 is the most by a player in the ASUN in 2023, also ranking as the second-most in the nation.

SUCCESS FROM THE GROUND UP
Utah is averaging 37.88 ground balls per game this season, including averaging 42.7 during ASUN play to lead the league.
• Utah is 11-1 this season when they record 30+ ground balls in a game and 17-2 in the
Andrew McMinn era.
• Utah has had 40+ ground balls in eight of the last 12 games and 12 times in the program's history.
• The Utes have had 30-or-more ground balls in 12 straight games, the longest streak in school history.
• Utah's 54 ground balls against Detroit Mercy on March 25 is a season-high, ranking second all-time at Utah, and is the second-most in the ASUN this season.
• Utah is the only team in the country that has three-or-more games with 50+ ground balls this season (54 at Detroit Mercy, 51 at Robert Morris, 51 vs. Lindenwood).
RECORD BREAKERS
Since the
Andrew McMinn era began in 2022, the Utes have broken over 70 school records in just 30 games.
• In back-to-back seasons (2022, 23), Utah has broken records for single-season points (409 in 2023, 314 in 2022), goals (267 in 2023, 191 in 2022), assists (142 in 2023, 123 in 2022), ground balls (606 in 2023, 442 in 2022), face-offs won (286 in 2023, 2022 in 209) and total wins (12 in 2023, 10 in 2022).
• In 2023, Utah also broke the single-game records for points (38 at Robert Morris), goals (26 at Robert Morris), assists (14 vs. Mercer), face-off wins (31 at Robert Morris) and face-off win percentage (.913 vs. Air Force).
• On the individual side, Utah's single-game records include

Colin Lenskold's 20 saves vs. Vermont,
Cole Brams' 21 ground balls vs. Bellarmine, his 27 face-off wins at Robert Morris and his 91.3 face-off percentage vs. Air Force.
• In individual single-season records, Hyde set a new record in goals (49) with Brams breaking his own records in single-season grounds balls (142 in 2023, 111 in 2022), face-off wins (254 in 2023, 199 in 2022) and face-off win percentage (.591 in 2023, .551 in 2022).
WHEN HYDE SHOOTS, HE SCORES
Junior attackman
Jordan Hyde has been tough to keep out of the back of the net this season and throughout his career at Utah, leading the Utes this season in goals (49) and points (57) while also breaking the single-game, single-season and career records for goals this year.
• His 109 career goals, 49 goals in 2023 and eight goals against Mercer this season all set new records at Utah.
• He ranks 16th nationally in goals per game (3.06) also ranking seventh in the country in shot percentage (.485).
• His 49 goals this season was the second-most in the ASUN and ranks as the seventh-most nationally.
• Hyde scored 35 of his 45 regular season goals in conference play, averaging 3.88 per game.
• Hyde has scored three-or-more goals in eight games this season, including score five-or-more in five (5 at Detroit Mercy, 5 at Air Force, 5 at Robert Morris, 6 vs. Lindenwood, 8 vs. Mercer).
• He has 28 career games with at least two goals.
• Hyde has scored in 22 straight games, dating back to Utah's game at Cleveland State on April 9, 2022. It is the second-longest streak by an active player in the ASUN.
• He is one of just four players in the ASUN with over 100 career goals (Dylan Watson, Jacksonville, 171;
Jordan Hyde, Utah, 109; Jacob Greiner, Jacksonville, 109; Brandon Dodd, Air Force, 101).
BRADBURY BRINGS IT ALL
Junior attackman
Tyler Bradbury continues to prove to be one of the most versatile players in the ASUN and the country, leading the team with 23 assists while also putting up a career-high 32 goals for 55 points.
• Through 45 career games as a Ute, he sits atop the record book in single-season points (62, 2022) and assists (33, 2022), and career points (156) and assists (81).
• He has scored at least one point in 32 straight games, dating back to the 2021 season, and has scored a point in 39 of his 45 career games.
• Bradbury also ranks third all-time at Utah in career goals (75), moving into second all-time behind
Jordan Hyde (109).
• He has 27 career games with multiple assists, including in eight this season with his season-high of four coming vs. Marquette.
• He has 24 career games with two-or-more goals, including in 10 in 2023 with his season-high four coming at Detroit Mercy and against Cleveland State.
• After being held without a goal in the season-opener, he has scored at least one in every game since, also averaging 2.5 over the last four games.
STICKY STICK
Senior faceoff specialist
Cole Brams is known for finding ways to get the ball, whether that is through ground balls or faceoff wins. This season, he leads the Utes in ground balls (152) and faceoff wins (254), recording a 59.1%-win average on face-offs.
• This season, Brams ranks seventh nationally in ground balls per game (8.88), also ranking 17th in the country in face-off win percentage (.591).
• In 2023, Brams has had 10-or-more ground balls in five games, giving him 13 career games in double-digits.
• His career-high 21 ground balls in Utah's ASUN Semifinal game against Bellarmine set a new single-game record at Utah, also ranking as the second-most by a player this season in the country.
• He has broken his own school record for single-game face-off wins twice this season, recording 26 at Detroit Mercy and 27 at Robert Morris, making him the only player in the country this year to have two games with 25+ face-off wins.
• His 27 wins against Robert Morris is the third-most in the nation this year.
• Brams averaged 8.56 ground balls per game during conference play.
• He put up 39 total ground balls in the ASUN Tournament, averaging 19.5 per game.
• Through 47 games as a Ute, Brams holds the school record for career ground balls (360), faceoff wins (661), faceoff attempts (1197), faceoff win percentage (.552), and ranks in the top-10 in caused turnovers (12).
• He is one of just 13 active players nationally that has over 600 faceoff wins (661), which ranks third among active players in the ASUN.
• His 360 career ground balls is the second-most by an active player in the ASUN and ranks ninth overall among active players in the country.
• Brams has 142 ground balls through 16 games this season, becoming the first Ute in program history to have back-to-back years with 100+ ground balls. With his 39 ground balls in the ASUN Tournament, he broke his own school record for single-season ground balls (111 in 2022, 142 in 2023).
• In single-game records, Brams holds every spot in the top-10 in both ground balls and faceoffs won.
CAMBERE CAUSES CHAOS
Senior defenseman
Samuel Cambere has been known to cause problems for opposing offenses, holding the school records for single-game (5 vs. Bellarmine, 5/5/22), single-season (28 in 2022) and career (95) caused turnovers, also ranking second in career ground balls (239).
• Cambere has recorded at least one ground ball in all 62 games he has appeared in as a Ute.
• He has 28 career games with two-or-more CTOs in a game, including tying his season-high with three in four games this year (vs. Marquette, at Robert Morris, vs. Mercer, vs. Air Force).
• He ranks in the top-40 nationally in caused turnovers per game this season (out of 192 ranked), averaging 1.44.
• Cambere has had two-or-more caused turnovers in six of the last eight games, averaging 2.0 per game during that span.
• He has recorded at least one CTO in 46 of his 61 games.
• He has also posted four-or-more ground balls in 31 career games.
STINES CLIMBS THE CHARTS
Redshirt freshman
Ryan Stines has scored 37 goals in 16 games this season, ranking second on the team, starting all 16 games as well as the 2023 ASUN Freshman of the Year.
• He set a new freshman record at Utah with his 37 goals, passing
Jordan Hyde's 20 goals in 2021.
• He has scored at least one goal in 14 of Utah's 16 games this year, including two-or-more in 11.
• His 2.31 goals per game ranks fifth among freshmen nationally with his 37 total goals ranking third.
• Stines scored a career-high five goals in Utah's win over Jacksonville.
• He also scored a career-high eight points vs. Mercer on four goals and a career-best four assists with the eight points ranking third all-time at Utah.
MCMAKIN IT HAPPEN
Junior attackman
MJ McMahon has been a consistent threat on offense for the Utes since he stepped foot on campus in 2020, recording 81 points on 49 goals and 32 assists.
• Through 47 career games, McMahon ranks fourth all-time in career points (81), also ranking fourth in goals (49) and has moved into second in assists (32).
• This season, he has 32 points on 13 goals and 19 assists.
• He recorded a career-high tying four assists against Lindenwood on April 12.
• He has scored two-or-more points in nine of Utah's 16 games this season, including his season-high five points in Utah's win at Robert Morris (3 goals, 2 assists).
• Prior to Utah's season opener against Denver (2/4/23), he had scored at least a point in 19 straight games (at Mercer, 4/27/21 – vs. Robert Morris, 5/7/22).
• He has scored at least a point in 38 of the 47 games he has appeared in.
POWERED THROUGH THE MIDFIELD
Through 16 games this season, Utah's three starting midfielders have combined for 77 goals, accounting for 28-percent of Utah's production.
•
Koa Todd ranks fourth on the team in points (35) and goals (28 total, 1.75 per game), and is first among midfielders.
• Todd has nine games this year with two-or-more goals, including his career-high five goals and seven points against Robert Morris.
• In the last seven games, he has averaged 2.14 goals per game, scoring two-or-more in four during that span.
• Junior
Jared Andreala has started all 16 games, ranking fifth on the team in goals (26).
• Andreala has scored a career-high four goals three times this season (vs. Marquette, vs. Jacksonville, vs. Cleveland State). He has six games this season with two-or-more goals, including in five of the last eight games.
•
Carson Moyer has 13 goals and six assists this season (30 points).
• After only scoring two of his 23 goals in non-conference play, he has gone on to average 1.9 goals per game (15 goals in ASUN play).
• Moyer has scored at least two goals in the last four games, including his career-high tying four in Utah's ASUN Championship win over Air Force, averaging 2.75 goals during that span.
YOUTH MOVEMENT ON D
Through 16 games this season, Utah has seen three underclassmen become impact players on the defensive side of the ball with defenders
Nikko DiPonio and
Colby Plotts, and goalkeeper
Colin Lenskold all taking on large roles in the program.
• DiPonio, a true freshman, has started in all 16 games this season, recording 36 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.
• DiPonio's 16 caused turnovers ranks second among freshmen nationally.
• Lenskold, also a true freshman, has played and started in 15 games, racking up 164 saves (.480 save percentage), 24 ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Plotts, a sophomore on the team, has 35 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers through 16 games this season, also scoring 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists.
THE CAPTAINS
Prior to the 2023 season, Utah selected its three captains for the season in
Josh Rose,
Samuel Cambere and
Tyler Bradbury. Cambere and Bradbury were also captains in 2022 with Cambere also serving as a captain in 2021.
• Bradbury and Cambere earned 2022 ASUN Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors during Utah's first year in the league in 2022.
• The trio has combined for 145 career games and 86 starts.
YEAR 5
The Utes are in their fifth year as a Division I program after making the transition from a club team in 2019. Utah is 34-28 all-time as a Division I team with 22 of those wins coming the last two seasons under the direction of head coach
Andrew McMinn.
• Utah won the ASUN regular season title in 2022 after its first year in the league, repeating as regular season champs in 2023 and winning the ASUN Championship on May 8.
• McMinn has a career record of 98-73 and a record of 22-8 at Utah. His 22 wins is the most by a head coach for Utah Lacrosse.

Utah entered the 2023 season with eight seniors on the roster, including

Zach Chandler and
Dominic Mata. Wilson, Santana and Cambere have played in the most games on the team with Wilson seeing action in 53, Santana appearing in 56 and Cambere playing in 62.
