NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Utah Golf program landed two Utes on the 2020-21 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar teams with
Javier Barcos and
Jesper von Reedtz both earning recognition.
The award announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) is given to student-athletes who have participated in 40-percent of his team's competitive rounds, has a stroke-average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.20.
Barcos, who is pursuing a major in business administration, and Von Reedtz, who is working on his degree in finance, were also named to the 2021 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll earlier this month.
Barcos played in eight tournaments this past season with a career-low 71.7 average. He shot a 54-hole career-low (207) at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational, tying for third overall, also shooting a career-low 67 in the first round.
Von Reedtz carded eight rounds of par or better in 2020-21, averaging 73.4 strokes per round in eight tournaments. He tied for second with a career-low score of 205 (-11) at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational, shooting a 67 in the first round which tied for his second-lowest 18-hole score of his career.
As a team the Utes were successful on and off the course this season, earning the GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award with Presidents Special Recognition.
