OREM, Utah – The No. 19 Utah volleyball team earned its fourth sweep in five matches this season with a sweep over previously undefeated UC Davis in the Wolverine Classic at Utah Valley on Friday, September 6.
Kenzie Koerber had 17 kills hitting .556 for the match.
Brianna Doehrmann had nine digs and Saige Ka'aha'aina'-Torres had 35 assists.
The Utes came out strong from the start, immediately going on a 6-0 run. UC Davis came back to get within one at 10-9, but Utah immediately built their lead back up out of a timeout.
Utah controlled play once again in the second set going up 2-0 after taking the set 25-17.
UC Davis pushed Utah a lot more in the third and even took a 23-19 lead behind some really tough serving. Once Utah got the side out, they answered winning six in a row to close it out in three.
Utah has one more match today at Utah Valley against Portland State at 5 p.m.
