SALT LAKE CITY - The 46th ranked University of Utah women's tennis team was unable to record a victory earlier today, as they dropped their match to 3rd ranked Stanford with a score of 0-7. With this loss, the Utes will fall to an overall record of 12-9 on the season, with a 2-6 record in Pac-12 conference play.
"I felt like our freshmen did a good job of competing today," said head coach
Mat Iandolo. "This experince that they gained in this match will benefit us as we finish out the rest of the season."
In doubles, Stanford gained the early edge over the Utes as they earned the doubles point. On court No. 1,
Anya Lamoreaux and
Emily Dush were unable to record a victory, as they dropped their match to No. 15 Lampl and Yee with a score of 1-6. Stanford then won all singles matches on courts 1, 2, 3 and 4, to complete the sweep against the Utes.
The University of Utah women's tennis team will be back in action this Sunday, as they will be taking on 19th ranked Cal. The Utes' match against the Bears is set to start at 11 a.m. MT, with competition being held at the Eccles Tennis Center.
