FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Freshman
Audrey Reimer set a new school record in the 200 back as the Utah women's swimming and diving team finished seventh at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships.
Reimer tied teammate
Sarah Lott's school record in the prelims and then set a new mark in the evening's finals (1:55.36) as she finished 10
th overall. Lott took 12
th (1:55.79) while
Emma Lawless and
Mandy Gebhart also impressed during the prelims. Lawless swam a 1:57.22, the fourth-fastest mark in Utah history and Gebhart did it 1:58.43, good for eighth place all-time.
Another freshman,
Aryanna Fernandes, took 11
th in the 200 fly with the second-fastest time in Utah history (1:57.48).
Jordan Anderson hit the NCAA B qualifying standard in 1:58.90 while
Christina Pick placed 20
th overall with a time of two minutes even.
Genny Robertson had the top time for Utah in the 200 breast, 2:13.83, with classmate
Darby Wayner also reaching the "C" final with a time of 2:16.45. Another senior,
Gillian St. John, made the "C" final of the 100 free and finished with a time of 49.95.
Sara McClendon had the top time for Utah in the 1650 free with
Mandy Gebhart also finishing in the top 20 and
Sophia Morici notching a PR (17:04.06). In the final diving event of the weekend,
Emma Ruchala took 16
th in the platform.
The last swimming event of the championships was the 400 free relay and the group of
Ianire Casarin, St. John, Fernandes and Lott took seventh in 3:20.81.
Seventh place would be where the Utes would finish overall as a team with 531.5 points as No. 1 Stanford captured its fourth Pac-12 title in the last six years.
