FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Aryanna Fernandes set a school record in the 200 IM as the Utes wrapped up the second night of competition at the Pac-12 Swimming (W) and Diving (M/W) Championships.

"We had a good session this evening and are clawing our way back," head coach
Joe Dykstra said. "I am so proud of Aryanna and Jordan's performances, which were the two fastest times in Utah history."

Fernandes finished 20
th overall and set the new mark (1:58.27) in the "C" final. Meanwhile,
Jordan Anderson was involved in the "B" final and finished 13
th overall with a time of 1:58.51, a new PR.
Christina Pick narrowly missed the evening's finals with a PR time of 2:01.20, sixth-fastest in Utah history.

Gillian St. John reached tonight's "B" final of the 50 free and had her best swim of the season, finishing 14
th with a time of 22.55.
Emma Broome and
Mallori Allen also achieved personal bests with their respective swims.

Over on the boards, freshman Tony Chen had another impressive showing. He took fifth in the three meter after a preliminary score of 340.55. Classmate Rylan Little was right behind him, taking sixth with a finals score of 332.68.
Clare Greenlow was the top performer in the women's one meter, placing 18th

St. John and Fernandes were back in the pool at the end of the evening for the 200 free relay. They teamed with
Audrey Reimer and
Darby Wayner to finish sixth with a time of 1:31.28. The only other individual swimming event was the 500 free where
Sara McClendon paced the Utes with a time of 4:53.32

Action continues tomorrow with the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 400 medley relay, women's three meter dive and men's platform. The finals can be seen live air at 6:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Los Angeles and Pac-12 Washington
