MISSOULA – No. 22 Utah took care of business in its opening match in the Montana Volleyball Invitational against the host team Montana winning in straight sets.
The Utes had 15.0 blocks with redshirt freshman
Phoebe Grace leading the team with 11. Grace also had nine kills and only one error.

Megan Yett had a great match leading the team with 10 kills and hitting .556 with no errors.

Early on, the Utes used a 5-0 run to take a 13-11 lead in the first set, but Montana came back with a 4-0 run forcing Utah to use a timeout trailing 17-15. Out of the timeout, Utah finished the set on a 10-2 run to take the lead in the match 1-0.

The Utes took control in the second set immediately going up 5-1. Montana hung around, but once Utah hit the 20-point mark, they cruised to a 25-17 second-set victory winning six of the last seven points.

Leading 15-14 in the third set, Utah turned it on with
Berkeley Oblad serving winning seven straight points and closing out the match on a 10-1 run.

In the three sets, once the Utes hit the 20-point mark, they didn't give Montana much hope. They outscored the Grizzlies 15-3 in the final points of each set combined.

Brianna Doehrmann finished the match with 12 digs. She has had double-digit digs in all four matches this season.

The Utes have one more match on Friday, August 31 against Gonzaga at 5 p.m.
