Utes Card a Loss Against No. 30 Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Utah women's tennis team was unable to card a victory on the road earlier today against Oregon, as they fell to the Ducks with a score of 4-0. With this loss, the Utes move to 10-12 overall on the season and fall to a record of 1-8 in Pac-12 conference play.
The Utes were in a deficit early, as the Ducks were able to earn the doubles point. Taylor Calton and Whitney Turley were unable to record a victory on the No. 2 court, as they were topped by No. 81 Rifanty Kahfiani and Alyssa Tobita with a score of 6-1. Brianna Chisholm and Victoria Robertson then fell, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot to Julia Lilien and Paiton Wagner, to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
In singles, Robertson was beat out at the No. 6 position by Oregon's Julia Eshet with a final score of 6-0, 6-2. Calton then fell at the No. 4 spot to Daniela Nasser with a score of 6-3, 6-1, to put the Ducks into winning position. No. 121 Alexia Petrovic was then unable to defeat No. 49 Alyssa Tobita on the No. 1 court, as she fell, 7-5, 6-3, for the Ducks to complete the sweep.
The Utah women's tennis team will be back in action next week for their final match of the season, as they will travel to Boulder, Colorado, to take on the University of Colorado Boulder. This will also be the Utes' last Pac-12 conference match before the Pac-12 Championships. The Utes are scheduled to take on the Buffalos on April 21st, with the match set to start at 11 a.m. MST.
