PULLMAN, Wash. – The University of Utah women's tennis team suffered a loss earlier today against the 31
st ranked Washington State Cougars, falling 0-4. With this loss, the Utes move to an overall record of 9-8, with a record of 1-4 in Pac-12 conference play.
Washington State got up early against the Utes by earning the doubles point. On the No. 3 court,
Brianna Chisholm and
Victoria Robertson fell short to Aneta Miksovska and No. 43 Michaela Bayerlova with a score of 1-6.
Taylor Calton and
Whitney Turley were the defeated at the No. 2 spot by Guzal Yusupova and Tiffany Mylonas, 2-6, allowing the Cougars to win the doubles point.
Then in singles, Chisholm, Calton, and
Alexia Petrovic were unable to card victories for the Utes, as Washington State won in straight sets to earn the win over the Utah women's tennis team.
The Utes will be back in action on Sunday as they will travel to Seattle, Washington, to take on the 49
th ranked University of Washington. The match against the Huskies is set to start at 12 p.m. MST, and will be available to watch on the Pac-12 network.
