Utah Notes
The Utes are coming off of a 0-7 loss against conference opponent Cal, dropping the Utes to an overall record of 8-6 and a record of 1-2 in Pac-12 conference play. The University of Utah women's tennis team lost a tough match earlier today, falling to the Cal Bears with a score of 0-7. In doubles,
Brianna Chisholm and
Jena Cheng were the only pair to record a victory for the Utes. On the No. 3 court, they were able to defeat Jasie Dunk and Alexis Nelson with a score of 7-5. In singles, the Utes were swept by Cal, allowing the Bears to come away with the 7-0 victory. With this loss, the Utes move to an 8-6 overall record, with a record of 1-2 in Pac-12 conference play.
Opponent Notes
The Fresno State Bulldogs are coming off of a 5-2 victory over Dartmouth this past weekend. With the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches splitting, the opening point hinged on Court 1. The Bulldogs' No. 27-ranked team of Emma Wilson and Georgia Lawson pulled out a tiebreak win, 7-6(3), to give their team the early advantage. Ndindi Ndundahelped maintain the early lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win on Court 3 to keep Fresno State ahead 2-1. Dartmouth though leveled the match at No. 2. With the remaining three matches heading into third sets, the Bulldogs claimed all three with Juliane Triebe and Alessia Dario winning 6-2 in the final set and Wilson winning 7-6(4) to give the Bulldogs the match.
