Theriault Sets School Mark at Mizzou Invite

Senior wins platform with new Utah record
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Daniel Theriault set a new school record in the platform, winning the event on the final evening of the Mizzou Invite.
"Daniel had the best meet of his life," diving coach Richard Marschner said. "Not only did he win the meet, but he set the school record. He has worked so hard for the past four years and I am so proud of how he has led the team with his perseverance and great attitude. I am really excited to see how he does the rest of the season."
The senior went into tonight's finals fourth overall as Rylan Little impressed in prelims and entered as the top seed with a score of 294.15. However, Theriault put up a monster score to surpass the freshman, who bettered his tally from the morning (301.00) but placed fourth. It was still a cause for celebration as Little recorded the sixth-best score in Utah history.
Makenzie Caufield was the top women's performer, placing 15th overall with a score of 190.10.
Utah's swimmers and divers are back in action in a couple weeks. The swimmers will be in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Invitational while the divers host the Utah Invitational, Nov. 30 - Dec. 1 at Don Reddish Pool.
