Utes drop conference match to No. 20 UCLA

LOS ANGELES - The University of Utah women's tennis team fell to the No. 20 UCLA Bruins on the road this afternoon, 4-0.
The Bruins clinched the doubles point with two solid wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Nationally-ranked Jada Hart and Terri Fleming defeated Margo Pletcher and Taylor Calton, 6-3 in the No. 1 position while Kristin Wiley and Ena Shibahara notched a 6-1 victory over Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa and Alexia Petrovic.
In singles competition, the Bruins clinched three victories to seal the 4-0 win over the Utes. No. 2 Ena Shibahara recorded a victory for the Bruins in the No. 1 spot, 6-1, 6-1, while Terri Fleming and Alaina Miller each added straight-set wins. For the Utes, Gerstner Da Rosa led Kristin Wiley, 6-2, 3-2 when the match was abandoned.
Next up, the Utes travel to face the Utah State Aggies on Apr. 11 at 2 p.m. in Logan before returning to the Eccles Tennis Center to face the No. 37 Oregon Ducks on Fri., Apr. 14.
