Utes start with UW on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
SALT LAKE CITY— The University of Utah men's tennis team will travel to Ojai, Calif. for the Pac-12 Conference Championships on Wednesday.
Play begins on Apr. 26 and will conclude with the championship match on Apr. 29.
The Utes (16-9) are slated to face No. 7 seed Washington in the first round of competition on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The winner of that match will face No. 3 seed USC on Thursday
MATCH POINTS
- Utah is coming off a 4-2 win over Arizona this past Saturday at the Eccles Tennis Center.Â
With the Utes up 3-2, Parker McGuiness was able to finish off things for Utah. A victory hung in the balance and  the senior was able to defeat Oliver Plaskett at the No. 5 position with a final score of 6-4, 7-6, finishing up his final regular season match as a Ute in style.
Other singles wins included David Micevski defeating Will Kneale 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot, and Slava Shainyan completing a dominant victory over Shoki Kasahara, 7-5, 6-0, at the No. 4 position.

- The Utes defeated Washington earlier this season, 4-2, in Salt Lake City. After dropping the doubles point, Utah won four of five singles matches to get the victory.

Micevski and Dan Little cruised to quick victories in singles play, as the Macedonian defeated Mitch Stewart at the No. 1 position 6-3, 6-1, and Little defeating Enzo Sommer 6-4, 6-2, on the No. 2 court. McGuiness gave the Utes a 3-1 lead by defeating Amit Batta at the No. 5 spot, 7-5, 6-1 and Shaniyan battled for a victory at the No. 4 position against Gal Hakak, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.Â
-The Utes and Huskies will be meeting for the third-straight year in the Pac-12 Tournament with UW taking the previous encounters. After losing 4-0 in 2015, Utah battled before falling 4-3 in 2016. After dropping the doubles point last season, Micevski, McGuiness and Egbert Weverink picked up singles victories. Little fell to Hakak in the final singles match, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, preventing the Utes from advancing.
- Micevski paces the Utes with 15 wins in dual match play this year. Shaniyan (14-2), Joe Woolley (14-8), Little (12-3), Weverink (9-5) and McGuiness (9-6) all have winning records this season.
- Â In doubles action, Micevski and Weverink have combined for the most wins (6) with Santiago Sierra and Woolley owning a 5-4 mark while Little and McGuiness are unbeaten after pairing again on Senior Day.Â
