Utah Men's Tennis Drops Decision at No. 7 UCLA, 4-2

Utes put up fight vs. top-10 foe
After dropping the doubles point and first singles point, Utah got on the board when Dan Little beat No. 43 Martin Redlicki at the No. 2 spot, 7-5, 6-1. It was Redlicki's first loss since March 9, a run of six matches. Meanwhile, Little improved to 12-2 on the season in dual-match play.
The Utes evened the score at 2-2 when Parker McGuiness rallied to beat Austin Rapp at the No. 5 spot, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Despite battling back to tie the Bruins, Utah dropped singles matches at No. 6 and No. 1 to seal the contest.
Slava Shainyan, playing in the No. 4 spot, was tied with Logan Skaggs at one set apiece when the event was halted. Shainyan entered today with a record of 13-1 in dual matches this season.
The Utes are back at it tomorrow at 2 p.m. vs. No. 6 USC.
