FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Utah closed the Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships by breaking four more school records and capping one of the best weekends in program history.
In the 200 back,
Daniel McArthur finished seventh overall and broke the school record with a time of 1:41.66 in the prelims. His time is good enough for NCAA consideration.
Austin Phillips swam a 1:44.66 in the prelims and
Ethan Dillard completed the "B" final in 1:44.71 to move to third and fourth place respectively on the Utah leader board.
Cole Avery competed in the "C" final and finished with a time of 1:47.32
In the 200 breast,
Jack Burton broke his own school record with a time of 1:55.69 to win the "B" final. His time is a NCAA "B" cut time.
Ganem Tebet shaved three seconds off his top time this season with a 1:59.71 in the prelims and
Brody Lewis with a time of 2:00.53 in the "C" final moved into ninth place all-time.
Ben Scott set a new school mark in the 200 fly with a time of 1:45.01 during the prelims and then finished 14th overall.
Rahiti De Vos swam the seventh-fastest time in Utah history during the "C" final (1:47.37)
The final record of the evening to fall was the 100 back where
Paul Ungur swam a time trial in 45.69
Matteo Sogne paced four Utes in the 1650 free with a time of 15:12.54, a new PR and the second-fastest time ever. It also was a NCC "B" cut time. Lewis placed 10th while
Evan Indahl finished 12th and
Brandon Shreeve was 14th.
Liam O'Haimhirgin placed 12th overall in the 100 free after swimming the prelims in 43.48, a new PR and the second-fastest time in Utah history. This was an NCCA "B" cut time. Tommy Baker narrowly missed the cut with a time of 44.34 in prelims to reach the "C" final.
McKay King, Phillips, O'Haimhirgin and Baker earned Utah a sixth-place finish in the final event of the evening, the 400 free relay, with a time of 2:54.40.
