SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Men's Tennis went 3-0 this weekend. After defeating Denver on Saturday, the Utes defeated Northern Arizona 6-1,  and then finished off the day by sweeping Montana State, 4-0.

Against Northern Arizona, Utah took an early edge in doubles play with Azat Hankuliyev and Slava Shainyan picking up a 6-3 at the No. 3 position. Egbert Weverink and David Micevski were victorious at the No. 2 spot, 6-4 to secure the point for the Utes.

In singles action, Egbert Weverink was dominant at the No. 6 spot, winning 6-1, 6-1. Dan Little was also triumphant at the No. 2 position, defeating Felix Schuman 6-0, 6-3. David Micevski closed things out for the Utes with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 1 position.

Later in the day, the Utes rolled through Montana State. Azat Hankuliyev and Slava Shainyan executed great teamwork defeating Thomas Fisher and Felix Schuman 6-3, at the No. 3 position. Utah secured the doubles point when Weverink and Micevski defeated Lucas Taylor and Tim Handel 8-6, at the No. 2 position.

The Utes quickly finished singles play with wins by Weverink, Little, Wooley and Micevski all winning in straight sets as the Utes concluded play.

The Utes are back in action this Thursday when they travel down to Provo for their match against Brigham Young University, with play beginning at 5 p.m.
