PROVO – Utah Men's Tennis sends nine competitors to the USTA/ITA Mountain Regionals this week, Oct. 18-21

Dan Little, David Micevski, Slava Shainyan, Santiago Sierra, Joe Woolley, Egbert Weverink, Randy Cory, Chase Stoner and Azat Hankuliyev will all be in action for the Utes.

The tournament will feature a 128-player draw beginning Wednesday. Players from 18 teams across the Mountain Region will participate in singles and doubles matches from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily through Saturday.

Utah along with contingents from host BYU, Utah State, Weber State, Southern Utah, Boise State, Idaho State, Idaho, UNLV, NAU, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Montana, Montana State, Air Force, Northern Colorado and Denver compete in the region.

The qualifiers from this event earn an automatic berth to the 2017 ITA Fall National Intercollegiate Championships held at the JW Marriott and the Indian Well Tennis Garden in Palm Desert, CA on November 1-5, 2017.

Little won the singles consolation bracket at last year's event in Las Vegas while Sierra advanced to the semifinals of the main draw as the No. 19 seed.

The event is free and open to the public. Fans can park in the lot near the BYU outdoor tennis courts on the corner of 800 North and 150 East throughout the four-day event.
