Charlottesville, Va.— As singles play continued at the UVA Fall Invite, Utah women's tennis had a tough second day of competition.Â

In her first match of the day, senior Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa recorded a victory over Marija Bogicevic of Marshall, 6-2, 6-0, before falling to Ingrid Vojcinakova of Old Dominion in a hard-fought three-set battle, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.

After a first-round win yesterday and a pair of difficult losses today, junior Margo Pletcher will face off against Kara Hall of Michigan for 7th place in the Blue Flight Singles Draw.Â

Junior Alexia Petrovic and sophomore Brianna Turley each recorded two wins on the day. Petrovic first defeated Emily Pence of Virginia Tech, 6-0, 6-2, before going on to defeat Rachel Morales of Marshall, 6-2, 6-3. Turley tallied wins over Hannah Templeton of South Carolina, 7-5, 6-4, and Sarah Buron of Virginia Tech, 6-3, 6-4. Petrovic and Turley are scheduled to face each other tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m.

Both singles and doubles competition will conclude tomorrow.
