Utes Wrap Up Play at UVA Invite

Charlottesville, Va.— Utah Women's Tennis had to battle challenging opponents, as well as Mother Nature, on the final day of competition at the UVA Fall Invite.
Junior Margo Pletcher and sophomore Brianna Turley advanced to the final match in the Blue Flight Doubles Draw, but came up short in a hard-fought battle where they were defeated by Rosie Johanson and Meghan Kelley of Virginia, 8-4.
In singles play, weather caused changes in today's matchups. Singles matches that were not finals were played as eight-game pro sets. Senior Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa picked up a win over Hannah Templeton of South Carolina, 8-4. Junior Alexia Petrovic also recorded a win over Kara Hall of Michigan, 8-1.
The Utes will be back in action Oct. 1-9 in Los Angeles, Calif. for the ITA All-American Championships.
