NEW ORLEANS - The Utah track and field team was selected as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team while
Andrea Chavez,
Ali Eisenbeiss and Chrissy Glasmann earned individual All-Academic honors, announced today by the organization.

As a team, the Utes had a 3.40 grade point average.

Chavez finished 10th in the 1,500 at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships and her personal-best mark of 4:19.87 ranks fourth all-time at Utah in the event. She also ranks third all-time at Utah in the indoor mile (4:47.75) and sixth in the outdoor 800 (2:06.96 aa). Chavez helped Utah win the distance medley relay at the 2016 Drake Relays. She is a three-time track and cross country Pac-12 Academic honorable mention selection.

Eisenbeiss has a career-best time of 2:05.84 in the outdoor 800, which ranks third all-time at Utah. She finished 13th in the preliminaries in the 800 at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships and was 18th in the event at the NCAA West Preliminary. Eisenbeiss was a 2016 Pac-12 All-Academic selection. She also ranks third all-time at Utah in the indoor 800 (2:07.12) and was on the 4x400-meter relay indoor team that holds the school record (3:43.93).

In her freshman season, Glasmann had a season-best throw of 158'10" (48.42m), which she did at the Utah Spring Classic, and ranks second all-time at Utah.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have been ranked in the top 96 nationally in an indoor event or have participated in any round of the outdoor NCAA Division I Championships. A team must have a 3.00 grade point average to be considered for the team award.
