Final Stats
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah men's golf team wrapped up the 2015-16 season at the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships after carding a final round 36-over par (391) on Sunday. Utah finished in 12th-place with a three-day, 72-hole score of 76-over par (378-363-364-391=1496).
Senior Brandon Kida placed highest among all Utah golfers finishing in a tie for 32rd-place. Kida carded 8-over par (79) in the final round to end the conference tournament with a score of 9-over par (77-68-69-79=293).
Senior Steven Croft carded a final round 3-over par (74) to finish in a tie for 50th-place at 18-over par (76-78-74-74=302). Croft was followed by junior Gentry Hicks, who finished the event in a tie for 53rd-place at 19-over par (77-75-74-77=303) after recording 6-over par (77) in the final round.
Seniors Jose Pelayo and Jonathon Thomas, along with freshman Nathan Wunderli rounded out Utah's team score after all finishing in a tie for 58th-place at 21-over par (305). Pelayo (76-72-78-79=305) carded a final round 8-over par (79), Thomas (74-74-73-84=305) shot 13-over par (84) in the final round, and Wunderli (75-74-74-82=305) carded a final round 11-over par (82).
Stanford was able to hold on to the lead and win their third straight Pac-12 Championship. Stanford finished the event at 18-under par (352-336-348-366=1402) after shooting a final round 11-over par. California (+11) finished in second place, Arizona State (+19) placed third, Washington (+23) took fourth, and USC (+28) rounded out the top-five teams.
Oregon (+39), Colorado (+39), UCLA (+45), Washington State (+56), Arizona (+62), and Oregon State (+65) completed the field.
The Utes will return to action beginning next fall.
