First-year Ute sophomore Mitch Wishnowsky is bidding to become Utah's third-straight Ray Guy Award winner as the country's best punter, following in the footsteps of Tom Hackett (2014-15 Ray Guy Award winner and consensus All-American). Wishnowsky—a CBS Sports and SI.com Midseason All-American—leads the nation in punt average (48.8) and punts of 50+ yards (21). He has placed 24 of his 44 total punts inside the 20-yard line (54.55%), which is second nationally and best in the Pac-12. Wishnowsky is tied for third nationally in punts inside the 20-yard line (24) and tied for second in the NCAA in punts inside the 10-yard line (11). He has six punts at or inside the 5-yard line. He has not had a touchback since the first game of the season and has led Utah to a No. 1 national ranking in net punting (45.05). Â

Declaring he wanted Jr. added to his name recently is running back Troy McCormick Jr. … No changes were made to the depth chart following the bye week … First-team all-conference free safety Marcus Williams is expected to return to the starting lineup after missing the last two games with an injury … Center Lo Falemaka came off a three-game injury absence to play on special teams against Washington on Oct. 29.
