 Utah in the Rankings
> After its bye, the Utes jumped three places in the AP poll to No. 13 and four places in the Coaches' poll to No. 12. Both are Utah's best rankings this season. See pages 16-18 for Utah's history in the national rankings.
> In the first College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings, released Nov. 1, Utah was No. 16. Since the CFP rankings began in 2014, Utah has been in the top 25 every week of the rankings. The new CFP rankings will be announced on Nov. 8.
> Utah is in the AP and Coaches' polls for the eighth-straight week. The Utes broke in at No. 24 AP/No. 23 Coaches on Sept. 18.
> Utah is 71-19 all-time when ranked in the AP poll and 18-8 since joining the Pac-12 Conference in 2011.

> With a 4-2 league record, Utah is a half-game behind second-place USC (5-2) in the Pac-12 South Division. One of USC's losses was to the Utes. Utah plays division-leading Colorado (5-1 Pac-12) on Nov. 26 in Boulder.

 Nation's Premier Punter
First-year Ute sophomore Mitch Wishnowsky is bidding to become Utah's third-straight Ray Guy Award winner as the country's best punter, following in the footsteps of Tom Hackett (2014-15 Ray Guy Award winner and consensus All-American). Wishnowsky—a CBS Sports and SI.com Midseason All-American—leads the nation in punt average (48.8) and punts of 50+ yards (21). He has placed 24 of his 44 total punts inside the 20-yard line (54.55%), which is second nationally and best in the Pac-12. Wishnowsky is tied for third nationally in punts inside the 20-yard line (24) and tied for second in the NCAA in punts inside the 10-yard line (11). He has six punts at or inside the 5-yard line. He has not had a touchback since the first game of the season and has led Utah to a No. 1 national ranking in net punting (45.05). Â

Declaring he wanted Jr. added to his name recently is running back Troy McCormick Jr. … No changes were made to the depth chart following the bye week … First-team all-conference free safety Marcus Williamsis expected to return to the starting lineup after missing the last two games with an injury … Center Lo Falemaka came off a three-game injury absence to play on special teams against Washington on Oct. 29. He'll be available at center for the ASU game … Anticipated to come off the disabled list after missing the last three games is tight end Harrison Handley… Right guard Sam Tevi, who was injured on the fourth play of the Washington game, is also on the projected depth chart for ASU … Another who might return after missing the last game with an injury is starting receiver/kick returner Cory Butler-Byrd… Two of Utah's three injured running backs (true freshman Zack Mossand junior McCormick Jr.) both returned to the sidelines in Utah's last game and Moss saw action. Sophomore Armand Shyneis out for the season … Nine true freshmen have played: Moss, Julian Blackmon, DemariSimpkins,Bradlee Anae,Terrell Burgess,LekiFotu, Tyler Huntley,Donavan Thompson and Devonta'e Henry-Cole.

Utah assistant head coach/running backs coach Dennis Erickson was the head coach at ASU from 2007-11, where he was the Pac-10 Coach of the Year in his first season … Utah earned its first win against ASU since 1976 last year in Salt Lake City.
