SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - After two rounds of play at the Bill Cullum Invitational the University of Utah men's golf carded a combined total of 15-over 591 (289-302) and head into tomorrow's final round in 12th-place overall at the par-72, 6,849-yard Wood Ranch Golf Club.
UC Santa Barbara leads all teams at 22-under 554 (279-275), while UC Irvine (-8, 568), Utah State (-7, 269), Long Beach State (E, 576), and both Seattle and Loyola Marymount (+1, 577) round out the top-five.
Sophomore
Kyler Dunkle led the way for the Utes, shooting 1-under 143 through the first two rounds. Dunkle, who is in a four-way tie for 23rd-place, carded a 3-under par 69 through his first 18 holes of play and followed with a 2-over par 74 in second-round action.
Senior
Gentry Hicks heads into Tuesday in a tie for 49th-place after carding a two-round score of 3-over par 147. Hicks, shot 4-over par 72 in the first round and then followed with a score of 1-under 72 in the second round.
Freshman
Mitchell Schow shot 1-under 71 in the first round, along with an 8-over par 80 in the second round and currently sits in a tie for 69th-place with a two-round score of 7-over par 151.
Freshman
Jordan Costello is in a tie for 76th-place with scores of 1-over par 73 and 7-over par 79 for a total of 8-over par 152 through the first two rounds of play.
Freshman
Peyton Hastings rounded out Utah's scoring through the first two rounds with a 36-hole score of 15-over 159 and sits in a tie for 87th-place. Hastings carded rounds of 9-over par and 6-over par, respectively.
The Utes wrap-up play at the Bill Cullum Invitational with the third round on Tuesday.
