SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah golf team is slated to appear at the Husky Invitational, hosted on the par-72, 7,168-yard Olympic Course of Gold Mountain Golf Club, Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 22-23. Living scoring of the 54-hole tournament will be available here.
Format
The first round of 36 holes will be played continuously Monday, followed by the final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Field
The Utes will be competing against several Pac-12 Conference foes, including Washington State, Oregon State, Oregon, Washington, and UCLA, as well as New Mexico, Seattle, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Gonzaga, Sacramento State, UC Davis, Saint Mary's, and BYU.
Last Time at the Husky Invitational
Utah placed 15th with a score of 907 (301-305-301), while sophomore Jonathon Thomas lead the squad with a three-round total of 221 (71-77-73) to tie for 32nd.
Senior Daniel Engle tied for 50th with three identical rounds of 75 for a mark of 225. Junior Jack Maerki swung a 229 (75-77-77) to tie for 60th while senior Ben Bankhead was not far behind with a score of 234 (82-76-76) to tie for 68th. Sophomore Myles Sullivan placed 72nd with a mark of 246 (80-89-77).
Last Time Out
The Utes opened their season at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo., earlier this month. The squad posted a two-over-par 884 (293-297-294) to earn a 10th-place finish.
Junior Max McGrail swung a one-over mark of 217 (76-68-73) to tie for 23rd. Senior Brandon Kida finished tied for 38th with a score of 221 (75-77-69), while juniors Jonathon Thomas and Brent Pollock, who competed as an individual, both posted marks of 224 to tie for 50th. Gentry Hicks tallied a 225 (69-73-83) to tie for 54th, while senior Jack Maerki tied for 85th with a score of 242 (78-84-80).
