SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Utah golf had five student-athletes garner honors from the Pac-12 as the conference announced its all-academic teams today. The number of Utes selected sets a new program benchmark for academic excellence.
Senior Ben Bankhead became the first Ute in history to earn First Team All-Pac 12 status. The McKinney, Texas native amassed a 3.55 GPA in business administration and became the first four-time honoree for the Utah program.
Bankhead had Utah's best score at the Pac-12 Championships and recorded his top finish at the Price's Give `Em Five Invitational where he placed second.
Senior Daniel Engle received accolades for a third-consecutive year by being honorably mentioned. He was joined by junior Jack Maerki and sophomores Steven Croft and Brent Pollock. The three new honorees brings Utah's total of recognized student-athletes to nine since joining the Pac-12.
