PROVO, Utah- Entering the second day of the BYU Robison Invitational in seventh place after four competitions, sophomore Suzie Vozarova secured seventh place overall at the conclusion of the women's heptathlon.
"Suzie fought well and gave it all today," Utah assistant coach Tapio Kuusela said. "She worked hard and has a lot of potential to continue improving on her marks this season and especially into next year."
Getting the day started in the heptathlon long jump, Vozarova finished tenth with a jump of 15-10.50 feet. Vozarova rebounded in the javelin with a seventh-place throw of 83-11.75 feet, followed by an 800m personal-best time of 2:34.95 for eighth.
Overall Vozarova collected a 294 point personal-best 4,308 points, which ranks 10th all-time in school history and earned seventh at the Robison Invitational.
The Utes will pick up action on Friday at both the Robison Invitational and the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
