FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Utah golf team finished in 17th at the Lexus Classic at the Belmont Country Club in Fresno Tuesday. Sophomore Gentry Hicks closed with a one-under par 71 as he posted a team-best score of three-over 219 (76-72-71), tying for 35th.
Junior Daniel Engle posted his best round of the tournament Tuesday, finishing with a final-round 73 for a total of 224 (75-76-73). Sophomore Brandon Kida carded a 227, with back-to-back 74's after opening the tournament with a 79.
Junior Ben Bankhead got off to a good start with a one-under 71 in Monday's opening round but finished with a total of 231 (71-78-82), while senior Joe Webber posted a 232 (76-79-77). Freshman Brent Pollock struggled to a final 242 (80-82-80).
The Utes make a quick turnaround and return to action March 11-12, for the San Diego Intercollegiate.
