EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Utah golf team finished 12th at the Oregon Duck Invitational Tuesday after shooting a final round score of 13-over par 301. The Utes closed with a tournament total of 902 (302-299-301).
Junior Casey Halliday finished as the low Ute after shooting an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round, the lowest by any Ute this week. Halliday's three-day 225 (77-76-72), tied for 48th.
Junior Daniel Engle finished one shot back of Halliday, posting a 226 (75-75-76). Junior Ben Bankhead carded a 228 (75-72-81), while sophomore Gentry Hicks logged a 229 (75-76-78). Sophomore Brandon Kida improved by nine strokes in Tuesday final round following his second-round 84 on Monday and rounded out the leaderboard for the Utes with a 241 (82-84-75).
Utah finished ahead of fellow Pac-12 squad Arizona, besting the `Cats by two strokes.
The Utes return to action April 8-9, as they travel to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the University of Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
