LAKESIDE, Calif. - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the first day of the Barona Collegiate Cup Thursday at the Barona Creek Golf Club in 15th place. The team tallied a first-round mark of 371, while two Utes lead in individual standings, tying for 27th.
Sophomore Daniel Engle and freshman Brandon Kida round up identical scores of 70, while freshmen Gentry Hicks and Myles Sullivan, as well as sophomore Ben Bankhead, posted identical scores of 77 to tie for 89th.
The Utes return to the Barona Creek Golf Club Friday for the second and third rounds. Live scoring is available on golfstat.com.
