North Plains, Ore. - The University of Utah golf team finished 11th at the Pac-12 Preview with a team score of 884 (295-288-301) on the Witch Hollow course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
Sophomore Gentry Hicks carded a career-low 68 with seven birdies in the second round en route to a career-low tournament score of 211 (71-68-72). Hicks finished tied for eighth overall, his career-best finish.
Redshirt freshman Jonathon Thomas performed well in his second tournament of the 2012-13 season, earning a 35th place finish with a score of 221 (71-74-76). Junior Casey Halliday tied for 52nd with 229 (73-78-78). Sophomore Jack Maerki scored 231 (80-74-77), finishing 56th. Sophomore Brandon Kida posted a 232 (84-72-76) and finished in 57th.
The Utes will be back in action at the UTEP Invitational in EL Paso, Texas, Oct. 26 and 27.
