COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Utah golf team earned a 13th-place finish at the Falcon Invitational Monday at the Eisenhower Golf Club's Blue Course. The team posted a final score of 886 (293-300-293), while freshman Jack Maerki made his collegiate debut with a top-10 finish.
Maerki shot a third-round score of 69 for a final total score of 214 (73-72-69) to tie for 13th. Fellow freshman Brandon Kida tied for 47th with a mark of 222 (73-72-77), while junior Joe Webber posted a score of 227 (74-80-73) to tie for 70th. Sophomore Ben Bankhead tied for 83rd with a mark of 230 (80-76-74). Freshman Gentry Hicks rounded out the Ute's performance, swinging a 234 (73-80-81) to tie for 96th.
The Utes return to action next Friday and Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M., for the William H. Tucker Invitational.
