PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah men's golf team saw their best finish of the season Saturday at their final regular season tournament of the year. The Utes placed seventh at the PING Cougar Classic at the Riverside Country Club with a mark of 869 (291-291-287), while senior Jeff Kitches also earned his best finish of the season with an even-with-par 216 (73-72-71) to tie for 15th.
With three-round totals of 217, one over par, freshman Ben Bankhead (71-75-71) and senior Derek Adams (74-72-71) both tied for 19th. Senior Mike Branca swung a three-over-par mark of 219 (73-72-74) to tie for 32nd while fellow senior Chase Hite took 92nd with a score of 233 (80-76-77).
The Utes return to action at the Mountain West Conference Championships May 5-7 in Tucson, Ariz.
