SCOTTSDALE, Ariz - The University of Utah golf team completed the first day of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic tied for 22nd place with a first-round total of 299, 19-over par.
Tied for 12th place Jeff Kitches leads the Utes after shooting a first round of 69, one-under par. Joe Webber is tied for 79th place with a score of 74, four-over par.
Chase Hite and Kaleb Mahanes are both tied for 112th place with a first round of 78, eight-over par. One stroke behind Hite and Mahanes is Derek Adams with a score of 79, nine-over par tied for 118th place.
UC Santa Barbara leads the team standings with a score of 275, five-under par. Taylor Coffman of Nevada leads the individual standings with a score of 65, five-under par.
The second round will be completed tomorrow beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the third round will begin at 8:30 a.m.
