SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah golf team is set to compete in the 2010 PING Cougar Classic hosted by Brigham Young University, April 23-24. The tournament will take place at the Riverside Country Club featuring 36 holes on Friday and the last 18 holes on Saturday.
Last Year: Utah completed the Classic in seventh place with a score of 872 (291, 286, 295), eight-over par. Chase Hite led the Utes with a 13th-place finish shooting a score of 213 (71, 71, 71), three-under par. BYU took first place in the team standings with a score of 842, 22-under par. Matt McArthur of Southern Utah finished in first place in the team standings with a score of 205, 11-under par.
Last Time: The Utes' last appearance was at the University of Wyoming Cowboy Classic, April 5-6. Utah finished in 22nd place with a score of 907 (299, 308, 300), 67-over par. Jeff Kitches led the Utes with a 53rd-place tie shooting a score of 221 (69, 76, 76), 11-over par.
