GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the first day of the 2010 Desert Shootout at the Palm Valley Golf Club. The Utes finished the day in 15th place after shooting a first-round score of 295, seven-over par.
Tied for 25th place Joe Webber leads Utah with a score of 71, one-under par. Chase Hite is currently tied for 50th place at one-over par with a first-round score of 73.
One stroke behind Hite is Kaleb Mahanes with a first-round total of 74 tied for 63rd place. Rounding out the Ute roster are Mike Branca and Derek Adams both shooting scores of 77, five-over par.
In the team standings Pacific leads with a score of 277, 11-under par. Alex Johnson of Pacific is currently leading the individual standings at six-under par shooting a score of 66.
The second round will take place tomorrow with the final round wrapping up on Saturday.
