-The Utes out-rebounded San Diego by a 40-32 margin. It was the third time this year that Utah hit the 40-rebound mark and the second time the team collected 20 offensive rebounds, tying for the most offensive boards in a game under head coach Jim Boylen.
-Sophomore center Jason Washburn scored a season-high 16 points and tied his career high with eight rebounds. Washburn also added two assist, one block and one steal.
-Junior wing Will Clyburn scored a game-high 19 points to go with five rebounds. Clyburn finished as Utah's leading scorer in the tournament with 49 points, averaging 16.3 points across three games. He was also Utah's leading rebounder in the tournament with 23 boards, an average of 7.7 boards per contest.
-With one block in the game, junior center David Foster lifted his career blocks total to 159. Currently in second place all-time at Utah, Foster now trails only Luke Nevill, who holds the career record with 205 rejections from 2005-09.
-With his seven blocks in the opening game against Butler, Foster set new Hawaiian Airlines Diamondhead Classic records for most blocks in a game and most total blocks in the tournament. With four more against Hawaii and one against San Diego, Foster extended his tournament record to 12 rejections in three games, a 4.0 block per game average.
-Foster has now blocked at least one shot in 40 of his last 42 games over the last two years and has blocked multiple shots in (33) of those contests.
-This year's Diamondhead Classic marks Utah's first appearance in Hawaii since the Maui Invitational in 2002. Utah (improves) to an all-time record of 28-17 in all games played on the Hawaiian Islands, including a 7-10 mark in non-conference tournaments.
- Utah slips to an all-time mark of 3-2 against San Diego.
- Now in his fourth year at the helm for Utah, head coach Jim Boylen owns a record of 63-48 for a .568 winning percentage. The Utes are now 8-6 in neutral court games under Boylen.
