"I was interested in Utah because I felt that it was the best fit for my academic and golf career goals," commented Kida. "Also, the move into the PAC-12 will give me an opportunity to play against the highest level of competition."
Jonathon "JT" Thomas from Sacramento, Calif., currently attends Syracuse High School, where he participates in golf and baseball. Thomas is a four-time letter earner in golf and holds a scoring average of 70.2. His best performance of 63 was at the 2010 Antigua National High School Tournament. "I wanted to be a Ute and stay in my home state," stated Thomas. "I also wanted to attend a college that offers a variety of graduate programs."
Gentry Hicks, a native of Marana, Ariz., is a four-year lettering varsity member of Canyon Del Oro High School's golf team. During his senior year, Hicks' -0.09 (to par) average helped his team reach the Arizona Division II State Championships. He was named 2010 Arizona and Southern-Arizona Player of the year, 2010 Arizona Individual State Champion, and 2008 4A Individual Regional Champion (Sonoran).
