SALT LAKE CITY- The No. 55-ranked University of Utah men's tennis team (8-4) defeated UC Riverside (3-7),7-0, Saturday at the Eccles Tennis Center. The win marks a three match winning streak for the Utes and they remain undefeated on their home courts.

"Leading up to 4 tough matches over spring break,I thought we played a good match," said head coach F.D. Robbins."Overall it was a good team effort and we took care of business."

The pair of Othman Zerouali-Ouariti and Jason Smits dominated in the No. 3 position defeating Ranier Matias and Sean Peterson, 8-0. Clinching the doubles point for the Utes was the pair of Wes Hancock and Phillip Eilers in the No. 1 spot defeating Quoc Doan and Felix Macherez, 8-6.

Delivering the final sweep in doubles for Utah in the No. 2 slot, Timmy Allin and John Taylor topped Yi Chai and John Park, 8-5, putting the Utes up, 1-0, in the match.

In singles, Hancock in the No. 2 slot defeated Gorjan Kovacevic, 6-1, 6-1. John Taylor topped Peterson in the No. 6 position, 6-0, 6-2, setting up Jacobs to clinch the match for the Utes in the No. 5 spot defeating Doan, 6-1, 6-2.

Phillip Eilers in the No. 1 spot topped Macherez, 6-1, 6-4. In the No. 3 position Smits defeated Park, 6-1, 6-3, and Zerouali-Ouariti gave the Utes a, 7-0, sweep over the Highlanders topping Austin Andres, 6-4, 6-4.
