UTE NOTES
The Utah roster features one senior, four sophomores, and five freshmen. Chance Cota is the lone returner who has played for the Utes. Cota tied as the Utes' highest finisher twice last season, tying for 14th place at the Ron Moore Invitational (four-under-par, 212) and 22nd place at the Cougar Classic (one-over-par, 217). Derek Adams, Mike Branka, Chase Hite, and Jeff Kitchens return to the squad for their sophomore seasons. Redshirt freshman Manuel Ortega, as well as freshmen Tyler Bielenberg, Andrew Etzel, Kaleb Mahanes, and Joe Webber will look to contribute during their first seasons.
UTAH HIRES GRESH AS NEW ASSISTANT COACH
Head coach Randall McCracken announced the addition of former player Chris Gresh to the coaching staff.
Gresh, a native of Salt Lake City, played for the Utes for four seasons from 2004-2008 and was one of the squad's most consistent players throughout his career. During his senior season, Gresh was Utah's second-highest finisher in five meets. He tied for 18th place at the 2008 Mountain West Conference Championships at five-over-par (218) on the Tuscon Omni National course.
