SALT LAKE CITY - A youthful University of Utah golf team will hit the links for a nine-tournament schedule during the 2008-09 season. It features six tournaments during the fall with an addition three dates in the spring.
The 2008-09 season begins on Sept. 6 when the Utes play in the two-day USAFA Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo. But, perhaps the highlight of the fall is the three-day University of Hawaii Kauai Invitational (Nov. 3-5). Utah will also play fall dates at the Ron Moore Invitational in Denver, Colo., (Sept. 15-16), William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., (Sept. 26-27), the Desert Classic in Palm Desert, Calif., (Oct. 4-5) and the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M., (Oct. 27-28).
The golf team takes the winter off, but it returns to the links on March 23 for two rounds at the Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore. From there, the Utes venture to the Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz., (April 6-7).
The only in-state rounds will be at Provo when the Utes play in the BYU Cougar Classic on April 24-25. From Provo, the Utes travel to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the Mountain West Conference Championship.
